INTERNATIONAL PERMACULTURE DAYTo celebrate International Permaculture Day the Sunshine Edible Garden and Learning Hub at James Cook University will be open to the public. This community garden is an example of permaculture designed low maintenance food growing for the urban dry tropics. The methods used are suitable for both community and school gardens and for home food production. Come along and learn how you can set up a low maintenance garden at home to provide your family with healthy organic herbs, vegetables and fruit.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT MEETING
Be inspired by tasting everybody's dishes, chatting with each other about food and our town and whatever topic comes up! More details to come.
Bring a plate of homemade food to share (or buy from someone who made it, to support local business) and a gold coin to help cover hall hire! BYO cold drinks (alcohol is ok, we trust you to be responsible). We have coffee and a selection of herbal and black teas. As usual, we will have a Fair Share table! Bring any excess fruit, vegetables, seedlings, herbs, seeds, jars, glass bottles you may have. If you can't cook and don't have anything to share, come anyway!
