BARRA SEASON - AN EXHIBITION BY LINDA OLIVER

Linda Oliver is a local Indigenous artist from the Townsville region. The exhibition Barra Season , inspired by the image of the barramundi, creatively and intuitively depicts the barramundi with its own artistic form and meaning. Each work uses contemporary and traditional designs and patterns.

Spirits of the Bush: an Environmental View.

This exhibition is collectively inspired by the natural environment, involving mother earth, spiritualism, and human emotion. The mixed media works on paper and canvas explore a number of natural elements including the earth’s spiritual regeneration and the integration of nature to the elements that surround us.

North of Capricorn: Miniatures Exhibition

The members of The Townsville Art Society welcome you to the 2014 miniatures exhibition North of Capricorn . The collection of work depicts the diverse aspects of life in North Queensland from the landscape to the ocean and is a response to the senses and stratum of this diversity. A range of mediums including pen, ink, watercolour, oils and acrylic have been explored in the delivery of these works.

Dancers - Variations in Blue

Umbrella Main Space Exhibition by Rainer Schlüter of two series of art works: Totemic masks out of palm prongs and couples of Blue Dancers made from beach wood, carved assembled and painted, symbolizing the dance of nature and sea when exposed to stormy tropical winds.
